For 50 years ihAg has worked to support people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness in the Ipswich area. During that time we have helped thousands of people and today our staff and volunteers have the same passion and commitment to support those who come to us for help.
In a typical year, ihAg has between 5,000 and 6,000 interactions with people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. This includes individuals sleeping rough on the streets of Ipswich, as well as those in temporary or emergency accommodation.
Our extensive experience, alongside strong connections with partner organisations and agencies, enables us to provide direct support and refer individuals to additional services where appropriate.
Evidence shows that access to a safe, affordable home is fundamental to a person’s health and wellbeing. It provides a stable foundation from which individuals can begin to identify and address other challenges in their lives.
At ihAg, we work closely with each individual to understand and tackle the root causes of their homelessness, supporting long-term, sustainable change. This approach helps people build resilience, break the cycle of homelessness, and reduce reliance on crisis services.
Every person has access to a safe home to call their own, and to receive the right support for them, at the right time, to enable them to maintain their home and achieve a level of independency that is right for them.
To work alongside people living with homelessness, and those facing the risk of homelessness due to the challenges of everyday life, and to enable them to move through their personal adversity to a place of security in their lives.
